DO I NEED A REFERRAL?

Yes you will need a referral from your GP/family doctor.

 

HOW LONG DOES MY REFERRAL LAST?

Your referral will last for 1 year from the date on the referral.

 

WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO MY APPOINTMENT?

For all new patients please bring your referral letter, Medicare Card, Pensioner Card or Health Care Card.  You should also bring any medications, scans, x-rays, recent pathology and any other reports you might have.

 

WHAT SHOULD I DO TO PREPARE FOR MY APPOINTMENT? 

We ask that all patients have showered before appointments and please do not use moisturiser or talcum powder. 

 

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET AN APPOINTMENT? 

Patients can usually get an appointment within 1 week.  Your GP/family doctor can organise an urgent appointment if required.

 

WHERE CAN I PARK?

There is street parking in Jacobs Street or in Bankstown Central Shopping Centre.

 

IS THE OFFICE WHEELCHAIR FRIENDLY? 

Yes!  The office is situated at ground level so it is easy for wheelchairs and walkers.  There is also a ramp up from Jacobs Street to the building.

 

WHAT SERVICES DO YOU OFFER?

Our routine tests are Echo Doppler, ECG, Exercise Stress testing, Stress Echo, Holter Monitor and Blood Pressure Monitoring.  Other more sophisticated tests and hospital procedures including Coronary angiography, angioplasty and stenting, Cardiac electrophysiology, arrhythmia ablation as well as Cardiac surgery can be arranged.  We also have regular Pacemaker clinics.

 

HOW DO I MAKE AN APPOINTMENT? 

Please call us directly on (02) 9796 2266.  Our office is open from 8.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday.

 

HOW LONG WILL THE APPOINTMENT TAKE?

For all new patients for Cardiologist consultation and relevant tests the appointment will take 45 minutes.  Other follow up appointments take 15 to 30 minutes.  Sometimes GP’s might book a patient in for a test only without a consultation.

 

WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?

We are located on the corner of Jacobs Street and Rickard Road, Bankstown.  The building is called Jacobs Court.  We are in Suite 12b, next to the traffic lights.  Our suite is directly opposite the Bankstown Central Shopping Centre.  The street address is 1-5 Jacobs Street, Bankstown.

 

WHAT WILL IT COST?

Registered unemployed and pensioners are covered by Medicare (Bulk Billed). 

 

All other patients will be required to pay a gap depending on tests required (Medicare covers about 70%).  Health Care Card holders only have to pay 50% of the gap. 

 

Please note that Medicare does not cover the cost of an Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitor.  Please contact us for more details if you require them.

 

HOW CAN I PAY?

You can pay using EFTPOS, Mastercard, Visa, American Express, cheque or cash if you prefer.

 

WHAT HAPPENS TO THE RESULTS OF MY TESTS? 

All results are posted to your referring GP within one or two business days of your appointment.  We can also fax results if required.

 

WHEN IS THE OFFICE OPEN?

We are open from 8.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday.

 

DO I NEED PRIVATE HEALTH INSURANCE? 

No.

 

DOES SOMEONE AT THE CLINIC SPEAK LAGUAGES OTHER THAN ENGLISH?

If required you can bring a trusted friend or family member to assist you with communication.  We can arrange an interpreter which may incur a cost to the patient.

 

WHAT DO I DO IN AN EMERGENCY?

Call 000 for an ambulance.
